Gait engine
01Gait, not keyframes.
Set stride, step height, body bounce, counter-bounce and frequency. Choose a default, dog, cat or horse preset — then drag a value and watch the loop re-solve.
Paper Jamp is a procedural animator for 2D quadruped rigs. Set the proportions, choose a gait, add your artwork — the walk cycle solves itself.

You keep the proportions, artwork and timing. Paper Jamp handles the footfall, IK and bounce while the cycle keeps running.

Fifteen bones and 2-bone IK keep every leg honest. Drag joints to reshape proportions, or switch a bone to Image mode to place its PNG or SVG directly on the canvas.
Drop in a sprite sheet on a solid background. Auto-Rig splits it in a worker, then you tap each piece onto a body zone. The apply lands as one undo step.
Add image layers above or below the character, build colour, wheel or image backgrounds, then export a ZIP
with a
.jamproject
file and every asset.
There is no timeline to scrub. The rig is sampled continuously, so the animation is already moving while you edit.
Start from the default quadruped or a dog, cat or horse preset. Drag any joint to make the proportions yours.
Adjust stride, step height, bounce and frequency. The IK and footfall update live in the viewport.
Upload artwork per bone or Auto-Rig a sheet. Then compose image layers and a background around the rig.
Download a ZIP with the project JSON and its images. Import it back any time without rebuilding your setup.
Paper Jamp is invite-only while it is in beta. The editor is one click away if you have credentials — and the documentation is open to everyone.
